“While an education will inform you, revelation from the Word of God will do much more than that. It will transform you. It won’t just cause you to know more. It will enable you to be more as you learn who you are in Christ and how to walk in the power of His indwelling life.” - Steve McVey in The Grace Walk Experience
This is what I want. I want to be transformed. I want to be more, to be changed.I don't just want to learn more; I want the knowledge to affect my life.

Quotations
This is a list of quotations that I have been collecting over the past few weeks to post. Obviously I haven't gotten around to it, so I decided to include them all in one post. May they inspire you, provoke thoughts, and make you smile.
Falsehood has an infinity of combinations, but truth has only One mode of being.
- Jean Jacques Rousseau -
God is a verb
- Buckminster Fuller -
An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children. He does not distribute Himself that each may have a part, but to each one He gives all of Himself as fully as if there were no others.

Self - insufficient
Self-insufficient
I don't think that this is actually a word, but I am using it anyway. I want to talk about the opposite of being self-sufficient. When I moved to Ames I had to become completely self-sufficient. I didn't have any family or friends anywhere near me. Unfortunately I somehow let this self-sufficiency slowly creep into my relationship with Jesus. I began to depend upon my own strength and ability rather than Him working in me. Thankfully He is gracious in showing me areas in my life where I need to follow Him and forgiving when I stumble.
I am dependent on Jesus. I am reliant upon Jesus. I am self-insufficient. I choose Jesus. I choose His way. I choose to have Him be my all. I need Him. I depend on Him. I am His.
On my own I can do nothing, but Him in me can accomplish everything.
"True grace undercuts not only self-righteousness, but also self-sufficiency. God often brings us to a point where we have no place to turn but to Him. As with manna, He always gives us enough but not too much. He doesn't let us store up grace. We have to go back for it, fresh, every day, every hour. " Randy Alcorn in The Grace and Truth Paradox

He is Good
I was just reading The Grace and Truth Paradox by Randy Alcorn. He quotes part of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I was reminded how much I really like this book and all of the symbolism in it between Aslan and Jesus. It is a kid's story, but there is so much in it for adults also. Anyway, this is such a great quotation that I wanted to share it here too.
Susan asks Mr. and Mrs. Beaver about Aslan the Lion:
"Is he - quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion."
"That you will dearie, and no mistake," said Mrs. Beaver. "If there's anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they're either braver than most or just plain silly."
"Then he isn't safe?" said Lucy.
"Safe?" said Mr. Beaver; "don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? Of course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you."

God speaks
My current favorite quotation is the following by C.S. Lewis:
God whispers to us in our pleasures,
speaks to us in our conscience,
but shouts in our pains:
it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.
speaks to us in our conscience,
but shouts in our pains:
it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.
In my pleasure, He whispers to me "I am here, don't forget that I am the One who gives you these pleasures." In my conscience, He speaks "I am the One who made you. You are My child." In my pain, He shouts "I love you! I am right here to listen, comfort, and embrace you."
Most recently I have been hearing His shouts. Jesus is always near to me, no matter how far I might be from those people who mean the most to me. Jesus brings us to a place of healing and He walks beside us all the way.

Jesus is...
my best friend
my listener
my comforter
my teacher
my Savior
He is the Lord of my life.
